President's Note

Hello,

I would like to tell you about WSET this past year.

After last year's wonderfully successful meeting in Seattle, Kristin and I went to Sacramento, we visited the Patrick Hays Learning Center and several Hotels nearby, The Board voted and after, multiple meetings, a lot of phone calls, planning courses,  searching for extremely talented lecturers, getting funding from our wonder exhibitors,  Last week we had a very successful meeting in Sacramento California.

We need YOU!).  WSET has several Committee positions open; Please click on the following link(WSET)to view the structure of our organization. One of the positions we need is the Scholarship Chair, during the meeting we usually announce WSET's Scholarship recipients, We did not have a chair for this position and I apologize, I did not add that into my statement, however, let me give you that information now. WSET's scholarship this year was $500.00 the Board reviewed the applicants and these funds were divided as follows:  Corey Heart $175.00, Rosa Kalinyuk $130.00 and Kathy Earl $195.00.  The position of Scholarship Chair is open for the 2011 meeting, just need a caring individual who is available to give approximately 20 to 30 hours of time from October until February and come to the meeting to present the Scholarships to the recipients.

We are working to bring you another superb program in 2011'

WSET is going to hold its 2011 meeting in Pasadena California at Huntington Hospital.

As President of WSET this past year and for the next year, I can tell you I feel very privileged to serve you.  WSET was there for me when needed the extra education to become a registered technologist.  I am so proud to be a part of this organization.  If there is anything you feel WSET is not doing for you, or could be doing for you, please let us know, it is our goal to meet your educational needs.

Looking forward to an even more successful 2010.
